I made my own lemonade but...

I made my own lemonade for "Tharaavees" dinner on Tuesday night. I was inspired because a visitor to my blog suggested so when I blogged about Secret Recipe in Male' having offered me a custom made lemonade that tasted exactly like the one available at The Keyolhu restaurant in Hulhumale which is my favorite to date.

I made half a glass of lime and added white sugar but to a level that would not make it too sweet: my thinking was that when I fill the other half with Sprite, it might make the lemonade too sweet for my own taste.

But unfortunately, even after adding Sprite, the lemonade did not taste sweet according to the level offered at The Keyolhu. However, I didn't have the heart to add more sugar because the sweetness may become unbearable for my own liking.

So I drank the lemonade all the way without adding sugar further although I was not completely happy about its level of sweetness.

Perhaps, because I live in Male' which makes it a bit inconvenient to go to Hulhumale just to visit The Keyolhu, every time I feel like having lemonade, I would go to Secret Recipe and request them to make me a custom made lemonade that tastes just like the lemonade at The Keyolhu.

I forgot to check the price of lemonade at The Keyolhu. It was cheap at Secret Recipe because they offered me a custom made lemonade for MVR 36 (USD 2.33). I don't think I will try Jen's lemonade again because their audience are foreign tourists: the lemonade they offered me cost MVR 137 (USD 8.88).

I think you put too much lemon in your lemonade 😄 Half a glass sounds a bit too much. But it's good that you tried 🙂

  2. Thanks. Hehe. As you suggested, I guess I should have realized that lime/lemon can taste a bit bitter/sour in more amounts.
