Body found today (20 May 2024) identified as Aiman, reported missing earlier

The body which was discovered in a Male' home this afternoon (20 May 2024) has been identified by Police as being that of Ahmed Aiman, aged 30 years, who was reported missing earlier. READ MORE from The Edition

I think it has something to do with urban vs. rural communities. Rural communities have smaller populations who know each other and therefore is easier to spread Conservative values. Urban centers contain large populations of strangers and therefore it's not easy to spread conservative values. Nobody protests the rise of the new Maldivian musicians, artists, and football players who are becoming successful sensations on both mainstream media and social media. Unless the government imposes Wahhabi ideals by force or for some reason like Afghanistan and Iran the majority of the Maldivian population embrace Wahhabism, I don't think there is any reason to fear these Islamic NGOs trying to forcibly impose Salafi lifestyles on Maldivians.
