Lately, I noticed that some Maldivians are developing a great interest in Turkey. I am not surprised because Turkey was the seat of the Islamic Ottoman empire - with its breathtaking buildings and artefacts, among many enticing features.
Already, there is a Dhivehi (Maldivian) video song shot there.
And some of my friends have already visited Turkey while other friends are now living there.
Some Maldivians watch Turkish television series now and a close friend has told me to watch "Resurrection: Ertugrul".
No doubt there is much in the way of remarkable history, culture, architecture and art that makes Turkey a country of interest.
