MOVIE REVIEW: "Alien: Romulus" (2024, 5 out of 5 stars rating)

Not only a great addition but also a good introduction of the "Alien" franchise to a new generation with a cast of young actors.

Nice to see Ridley Scott (who directed the first "Alien") as a producer on this one and therefore not surprising that "Romulus" incorporates both old and new elements. The old includes an uncredited cameo through the use of an AI generated character.

Enjoyed very much as an action adventure movie as well in addition to it belonging to science fiction genre.

Nice to see a return to the horror roots of the original "Alien" film, focusing on suspense, atmosphere, and the terrifying Xenomorph creature.

The cast - I'm sure teens would love them - particularly Cailee Spaeny in the lead role, delivers strong performances that contribute to the film's tense and claustrophobic atmosphere. The characters are well-developed and relatable, making their struggles and fears all the more impactful.

The film boasts impressive visuals, with stunning set designs and practical effects that bring the Xenomorph to life in a terrifying way.

No wonder that the film has received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, with many praising its direction (by Fede Álvarez), writing, and atmosphere.

And no surprise that the movie has been a commercial success, too, grossing over $350 million worldwide.
