LIFE IN PICTURES: My first time at Lui Buin

When I take a picture of the mural and the wallpaper inside Lui Buin, but forget to take a picture of the avocado smoothie I had there last night, you can guess something went wrong.

You are right: I went all the way there on the recommendation of a high school classmate to try out a "kurumbaa freeze" but shucks the two staff there told me it wasn't available and they supposed the Local Market had run out of stocks. I should go when Ramadan is over because tender coconuts are in great demand during the Muslim fasting month.

So I settled for my second best, the avocado smoothie, and it was tasty too despite my forgetting to shoot a picture of it. Perhaps in a way the novelty of smoothies had run out for me during the time I lived in Vilimale and a smoothie joint was just on the next block.

I don't usually experiment new food and beverage: I always wait for someone to recommend and then I try it. This goes for cardamom tea, masala chai, and adani tea, etc., which I had been "reviewing" on my social media over the past several months.

So what do I do now? That's easy to answer: every time I pass by Lui Buin, I will inquire whether they have Kurumbaa Freeze. I will keep on trying.
