What are the four elements in the New Age paracosm? Fire, water, air, and land.
The former belief is that these act together to give Earth the cycle of life for all animate and inanimate objects.
The animated television series "Avatar: The Last Airbender" is also a version of this but the animated feature movie after that, "Elemental", reimagines the concept in an ingenious and innovative way with a twist: can fire and water ever mix without destroying each other?
Herein is the interesting and mysterious premise introduced with the love story that is "Elemental". Can Ember, the fire element character, ever accommodate a romance with Wade, the water element character, when a physical touch could result in Ember getting extinguished while Wade could get vaporized?
I will not spoil this suspenseful question by hinting at any answer whatsoever because this cute, literally heart warming story, deserves to be watched and embraced.
Ultimately, of course, you can cheat yourself by hitting Internet forums such as Quora - for possible answers - where viewers have chipped in their speculation and personal reasoning of how Ember and Wade can kindle a seemingly impossible love between the two opposing elements which science (at least according to the movie) can allow but within a narrow space of chemistry depending on how their physical behavior would depend on not annihilating each other.
I have only one regret with regard to this movie: I should have gone to Schwack cinema to watch it in 3D. The Venice- and- Amsterdam-like scenes would have been a joyous sight as I can only imagine. Why I couldn't go was for some personal reasons at the time the movie was screened.
Well, enough said. Hehe. Hope I haven't spoiled the narrative with the preceding paragraph. Go for it. Watch it without knowing the ending because it's not every day you can check out an exciting romance which can keep you wondering how the star crossed lovers can discover how to be together against all odds.
