To be honest, I watched this movie purely because it stars my current favorite actress Emily Blunt ("A Quiet Place", "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen", etc.) who is basically almost unrecognizable in this 2006 film which was a critical and box office success.
Also, I like Anne Hathaway a lot as an actress, ever since her "The Princess Diaries", "Brokeback Mountain", and "Interstellar" etc.
Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci are also great actors who I have admired for years and greatly respect even now.
This is not an exactly heart-warming movie though it ends on a feel-good note. Even though "The Devil Wears Prada" is light entertainment it has its personal and corporate politics which some might find mentally draining especially those suffering from office politics in the governmental bureaucracy of Maldives.
While I won't spoil the movie, I will at least say that like any human who takes self-love as topmost priority, I admire people, like Hathaway's character, who are brave enough to abandon toxic work environments in search of jobs with positive vibes.
It's not necessary at all to bear unnecessary stress from too demanding bosses and unfair colleagues. I know a few Maldivians who have left their toxic jobs and landed jobs where they are actually happy now.
