Just a thought about Shaari’s view of Ukulhas' future

Tourism is beneficial in the sense that it’s a source of survival for Maldivians. But there is also the downside that it may permanently alter the physical, social, and cultural environment of the islands, as Shaari wondered after a visit to Ukulhas.

There's also the belief/theory that "controlled" tourism can preserve the island vibe and its natural environment. However, it might take some time to see if this turns out to be true.

I am not sure how this “control” can be implemented as demand for more beds grow with the government setting goals on attracting more and more tourists each passing year. 🤔
