People have gone missing indefinitely in Maldives, according to a report on Saturday by "The Press" news website.
Cases of people disappearing under mysterious circumstances have increased recently, while, even if it took a long time to locate them, they have not been found at all, reported the news website which claims to be the first exclusively politics-oriented news website of Maldives.
The report comes in the wake of a man from Fuvahmulah who "went out of contact" on Sunday but has been located in Male', the newspaper cited Maldives Police Service (MPS) as saying.
Police received the missing person's report on Tuesday, according to "The Press".
The man in question, 30-year-old Hassan Jameel (picture from police), was in good health when found, the newspaper cited police as saying.
Authorities have been criticized for not releasing information on why people go missing, and instead only revealing information as to where the person was located, and whether the person was found in good health.
Some newspapers claim that families, for their own personal reasons, do not want to reveal any information on why the persons went missing.
However, readers criticize newspapers for failing to mention even that, and claim that this leads them to feel that the newspapers issue "incomplete" reports.
